I have been a school-based, bilingual speech-language pathologist in Delaware since January, 2006. I have worked with students preschool through 12th grade.
I am a strong advocate for a collaborative, integrative approach to speech/language services. I feel that students become independent with communication skills, when the skills are targeted in a more natural context. I work very closely with regular and special education staff to facilitate carryover and regular practice of speech and language skills for all populations. As an RtI coordinator I work with a wonderful team of administrators, coaches and specialists to help our students reach their greatest academic potential.
I am one of the district leads for the speech/language pathologist team in my school district.
I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 2003 with a major in 3 Foreign Languages (Spanish, French and Japanese). I received my M.A. from Temple University, where I was a research assistant for Aquiles Iglesias and Brian Goldstein, 2 passionate researchers in the field of bilingual speech/language pathology. I was lucky to have such amazing mentors!!
