TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my fifth year teaching fifth grade but have experience in fourth and kindergarten. I am Responsive Classroom certified.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I truly believe that establishing a rapport with each and every student is the key to success in the classroom. I take this into account as I design lessons and create resources. All students are different and it is our job as educators to nurture and celebrate those differences in all that we do.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

None yet, but when a student says, "You are the best teacher I've ever had," that is the best honor I can imagine.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Teaching in Elementary Education at the University of Virginia.

I am an avid Ultimate Frisbee player and enjoy coaching the after school Frisbee Club that I founded two years ago at my current school.
