In the past I have taught preschool, as well as middle school math and language arts. I have now found my niche in elementary school teaching 4th and 5th grades. My graduate degree afforded me the opportunity to explore project-based learning with internships and practicums in elementary through high school.
My teaching style is built on a philosophy of personalized learning, meeting each student where they at and helping them grow and learn. My teaching style incorporates the innate curiosity of children and is interest and inquiry driven. We use many project-based, problem-based, and inquiry-based learning curriculums to apply knowledge in real-world settings while developing 21st century skills including problem solving, leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA in both undergrad and graduate programs.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English Language Arts and Science Education. My Master's Degree is in Experiential Education with a focus on hands-on and personalized instruction.
I have a lot of experience in alternative educational settings including project-based, STEM-based and standards-based education focused on developing the skills to be successful in the 21st century.
