TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach 9th grade World History and Geography, AP World History, AP European History and United States History and Government. My bachelor's degree is in History and Secondary Education and my master's degree is in Special Education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think students learn best when they are taught in a hands-on and interactive way. The more my students are up and moving the better! I do appreciate the need for lecture every now and then though, as well as sitting down and reading and writing. I like to assess my students both through tests and projects in order to allow them different means to express what they know. I am a big fan of not just teaching content but content skills. I teach my students reading and writing strategies throughout the year as well as study skills. I don't want to just prepare them for what they need to know about history but how to be a good student as well and express what they know to the best of their abilities.
