I teach at a Public Charter High School. I get to teach both Theatre and Dance. I love my job!
I love beginners! =) My favorite students are the ones who have had no prior experience in theatre or dance. I love encouraging them to take artistic risks at their own pace and helping them to grow into more confident adults.
I teach a pretty even balance between the history of theatre and dance and the technique of these artforms, because I really want students to understand why these artforms are important in society. My classes are very structured, with 5-10 different activities in each class period, so my students have to learn to transition quickly and stay engaged throughout the class period.
My favorite part of the school year is the last few weeks, when I ask students, "Was this class much more work than you imagined it would be?" They say yes. "But was it worth it?" I ask. They always answer, "Definitely."

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We enjoy hiking, gardening and taking care of our pet chinchilla, Barnaby.
I am reminded often that this world truly is the stage of the Great Playwright, and we men and women merely are its players:
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." ~1 John 4:9-11
I pray that you will experience His love today. =)
