TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught high school English, including AP, ELL, and College Prep, for over 16 years, and I have also taught writing and critical thinking at community colleges. I have a Master's in English Lit and an MFA in Creative Writing, which I think have helped me be a better writing teacher. I've also worked as an independent writing consultant, helping scholarship candidates snag those coveted awards. I love my students and I love teaching writing, especially when I see improvements and smiles on my students' faces when they see how much they've learned.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I take an interactive, integrated approach to teaching. I model writing consistently, and I encourage my students to take risks with their ideas and their writing.
