TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a relatively new counselor and this past year I was presented with an opportunity to build the counseling department from the roots. I worked with all new counselors and it was a struggle; however, it was a blessing. It is allowing us counselors to make this department EXACTLY how we want it to be. So consider my TPT products my Pinterest, blog, and Instagram as a form of my diary as a day in the life as a zealous middle school counselor. I love what I do and I wouldn't trade it for any other career, even on the worst days!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I work at a diverse, Title I school and many of my students score high childhood toxic stress (ACEs). What works for me is a combination of Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, this allows me to reach the majority of the students quickly and efficiently.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a strong believer that organized, intentional curriculum as well as a data drive program will set the counseling department up for success. I thrive on planning and analyzing, some may call me a nerd, and I am okay with that!
