I have been teaching for 5 years. I have had the priviledge of being the low man on the totem pole and bounced around grade levels. It has given me an extensive wealth of information and fun and new projects to use in different classes. I love taking things that I have done for different grades and adapting it to fit my students now.
I want students to enjoy what they are doing. I want them engaged and interested. I attempt to include art as much as possible even in the higher grades so that students can gain confidence if they are lacking.
Community Service Award as a paralegal
I went to Syracuse University and earned a B.A. in Political Science and History. I did one semester at Golden Gate University Law School. I received my credential and Masters from Notre Dame de Namur in Curriculum Development.
I originally thought I wanted to be a lawyer. I worked at a law firm right out of college and went to one semester of law school before making the decision to follow my heart. I was pretty miserable as a paralegal and always loved working with kids. I made the big jump and went into education and I don't regret one second of it!
