I am honored to have been teaching Jr. High and now High School English for the past four years at a wonderful public charter school.
I liken joining my class to boarding a magical, metaphorical monorail ride! Hang on, here we go! I think most students agree, as they often come back to thank me for the work I have done to prepare them for college. I practice teaching wisdom as an outgrowth of knowledge. Literature is the engine that drives our class, intellect and imagination converge to help it take flight. Socratic in essence, artistic and creative in nature-- the end I hope we all exit the ride exhilarated, changed for the better.
