TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a public school and Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) teacher for 40 years. My passion is MATH. Time is precious, so my goal is to create interactive materials for teachers to use in their classrooms that will help students understand math skills and concepts.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to motivate and excite children to understand, learn, and LIKE math. With this in mind, procedural learning, worksheets and lectures do not always work. I have always taught with creativity and humor and use materials that integrate well with students' interests.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

* Selected three times as Teacher of the Year from 2 different school districts. *Recipient of five grants related to promoting student engagement within the classroom (fine arts, math, and technology).

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Degrees: Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate (PhD) Experience: 40 years (grades 2,3,4 5,6,7, math specialist)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I believe all students can learn and work towards increasing their understanding of math. The activities I create will tap into their interests and motivate them to reach their potential and become confident in their math abilities.
