TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my eighth year teaching and I love everything about teaching and learning! I spent my first two years teaching resource/inclusion special education in 4-6th grade. I then spent three years teacing low-incidence multiple disabilities at the primary level. The past two years I have been teaching in a primary special education classroom designed to incorporate language and social supports. Most of my current learners have autism.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a teacher I believe that each student has his or her own way of learning and it is my job to figure out the best way to meet his or her needs. I believe learning should be fun! It’s hard to choose my favorite thing about teaching, so I’ll choose two: 1.) The little things students do to make me smile each day. 2.) The look of accomplishment a student has when he or she has learned something new.
