I have been an elementary school teacher in Colorado for over 20 years. My experience is mostly in fourth grade literacy for English language learners and students of poverty. I've also taught 3rd and 5th grades and spent five years as a K-5 literacy teacher leader.
Balanced literacy approach and we have started infusing mindfulness into our school day. I use Class Dojo as a management and parent contact tool. Next fall, I will be returned to a self-contained classroom and teaching math for the first time in over 10 years!
