I am an artist with a passion for education! I have taught and administered youth and adults in school, museum and hospital settings for 25 years. Currently I am teaching middle school where I am the sole creator of the visual arts program and curriculum. I draw my inspiration from my students experimentation, enthusiasm and boundless creativity.
Hands on, in, around and all over! I encourage experimentation and a thorough understanding of media, materials and technique.
Our most recent community exhibition included sculptures created with wire, foil, paper mache and paint. With ideas of art making, problem solving and creative expression, the students generated a collection of words to describe their art making process: surprising, inspiring, illustrious, creative, magnificent, uplifting, difficult, unpredictable, unique, awesome, fun and messy! My word - PERFECT!
