TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently I am a stay at home mom who runs a daycare/totschool/preschool out of my home. I was a kindergarten/first grade teacher for 8 years. I have my masters in early childhood/elementary education. I hold a teaching certificate in Maryland and I am 2-3 classes away from my admin certificate.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style can be summed up with this poem. "Teaching Your Child Through Play" I tried to teach my child with books. He gave me only puzzled looks. I tried to teach my child with words. They passed him by often unheard. Despairingly, I turned aside. "How shall I teach this child?" I cried. Into my hand he put the key "Come," he said, "play with me."

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nominated for West County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year 2014

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a bachelors degree in Liberal Arts from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and I have my masters degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education also from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a mom of three; I have a daughter and twin boys. I love spending time with my family, especially camping and traveling.
