TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over a decade of experience working with children and as a speech language pathologist since earning my master's degree in speech pathology in 2012. I began my career as an itinerant provider working with children birth-5 in preschools and within their home environments. I have a Masters degree and I am licensed to provide therapy in this field in New York, California, Kansas, and Texas. I also hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology required by the ASHA and I have the ability to adhere to the ASHA Code of Ethics. It has been a long ambition of mine to relocate permanently to a new state and my husband’s job has recently provided us with this new and exciting experience here in Austin, TX. In my previous position in New York, I worked as a Speech Language Pathologist at an urban Elementary and Middle school and now currently work part time at a Private Practice 2 days a week and teletherapy 3 days a week. I find this career to be a very rewarding one and I have a real desire to help students with various delays and backgrounds. My experience has taught me that students with speech and language impairments have a difficult time keeping up with other students, but this type of disability also affects them in a very emotional way. I have the skills to help children of all ages deal with the emotional aspect by helping them meet their developmental and educational goals.
