Oh how time flies... I have been teaching now for 14 years! I am in my eleventh year teaching third grade. Before third, I taught fourth grade for two years and second grade for one year. I have loved each and every one of my years of teaching.
I am known to be loving yet firm. I love my students as if they are my own children but have very high expectations for their success. We work hard day in and day out, but we do like to make learning fun.
I have been involved in many commitees within my district and school. Whether piloting textbooks for our district, leading my school coworkers in school improvement, or pioneering new SMARTboard technology in my school, I have been there and done that. I love teaching third graders, but I am also a lifelong learner that enjoys teaching my peers new knowledge I have attained.
I earned Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from MIchigan State University in 1999. I then did a year long student teaching assignment in second grade while earning 12 gradeuate level credits. I then earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Education from Michigan State University in 2002. By 2007, I had earned a Master of Arts in Reading Instruction from Saginaw Valley University.
