TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello! My name is Katelynn Ryan and I am a lifelong educator who currently teaches 7th and 8th grade social studies in Erie, Colorado. I have my undergraduate degree in history from the University of Colorado, a Masters of Science Degree in Education with concentrations in Organizational Management and Change Leadership and ELL Teaching and Learning, as well as over 50 credit hours of PD. In addition to my social studies certification I have my English Certification, my health certification, and am certified to both create online courses and teach how to create online courses. In addition to my formal certifications I was a substitute for many years and completed long term sub positions at all levels-Elementary, Middle and High school and in all subject areas from special education to finance and everything in between! Finally, I have served in leadership positions throughout the district at various different levels.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use the work shop method, PBL, love and logic, open-ended questions, student driven backwards design, and blended learning to guide my instruction.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Rated highly effective for 4 years (since my second year of teaching). Served on Teacher Advisory council, Technology Advisory council, with the St. Vrain education foundation as a judge, been on the leadership team, and served as a mentor teacher.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have my undergraduate degree in history from the University of Colorado, a Masters of Science Degree in Education with concentrations in Organizational Management and Change Leadership and ELL Teaching and Learning, as well as over 50 credit hours of PD.

Personally I have an amazing husband and toddler who bring light and joy into my life, I am an avid sports fan (Go Broncos!), I love outdoor activities like hiking and paddle boarding, and I like to do yoga and dance for fun and balance in my life!
