38 years as a teacher and school administration. Taught Grade One science, social studies for grade 5 to 12, Biology for grades 11 & 12, English to both junior and senior high. Oceanography for grades 7 to 9 students. A very successful basketball coach whose teams won over 700 games.
We adopted our style to the make up of the students within the class. Sometimes I used project or group techniques other times a discussion approach other times straight lecture.
As a teacher the Alberta Teacher's Association social studies special council awarded my class a number of awards for unique accomplishments. They were the first to use modern technology to interview Canada's Prime Minister while they were in their classroom. The Alberta Schools Athletic Association named a championship football trophy after me in 1991.
Graduated from high school from Provincetown High School on Cape Cod. Awarded my B. SC in Social Science from Colorado State University and my Master's in Education Administration and Curriculum Development from Gonzaga University.
We have served on two Canadian Provincial Curriculum Development committees. The first for Physical Education, Health, and Guidance and the other for Junior High Social Studies
