TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a certified 9-12 English and journalism teacher as well as a community college instructor. After earning an M.A. in Teaching, I have spent the last seven years developing the curriculum that I am now proud to share on Teachers Pay Teachers. At the high school level, I have focused on developing materials that focus on the Common Core, specifically informational texts, test prep, and supplementary materials for exemplary texts. Over the last 7 years, I have taught 18 sections of state-tested classes (under NCLB as well as the new CC laws of NC). Therefore, many of my materials are designed with rigor and critical thinking in mind.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Precise. Rigorous. Performance-based. I expect all learners to grow intellectually and socially when they take my courses. I use carefully crafted activities to help students create new knowledge and understandings of the world in which we live.
