I have been teaching full time for 7 years, and have taught grades ranging from 4th through 8th grade. I have served as the chair of the math department and currently am involved with math and science leadership on my campus. This year I teach all subject areas in a 4th/5th split class and I love it! In addition, my wife and I home school our own children who are in 2nd grade, 1st grade, and preschool and try to keep up with our rambunctious 3 year old.
I believe learning should be fun! My classroom is often filled with silliness and laughter. From wearing funny hats to different ties each day to creating magical math experiences, my students never know what will be next to bring a smile to their face. I believe that students learn best in an environment they enjoy! My students work in an environment where they are encouraged to explore, create and try new things. In addition, I am passionate about finding ways to integrate math, science and literacy instruction.
