I am currently teaching my twenty-sixth year. I have taught kindergarten, first, third and fifth grades. I also spent 3 years as librarian of a Pre-K through 6th grade school. My one year spent out of the classroom as lead teacher/RTI coordinator was enough to show me where I belong----the classroom!
I believe that children learn best in a classroom that allows for risks and conversations. Cooperative learning is a must in my classroom. I have grown over the years and realized that quiet students are not necessarily engaged students. Each child must play a role in the classroom.
I have been voted Teachers of the Year in my school on 3 occasions. I am very proud that I was chosen by my peers for this honor.
I have a B.A. in elementary education from Northeast Lousiana University and a M.Ed. in elementary education from Mississippi College.
