I have been a teacher in Texas for eight years. A majority of my experience is in upper elementary, Math and Science. I also spent a few years teaching early-childhood literacy, and then carried those skills into a middle school setting where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading Intervention.
I love students to use their own schema and background knowledge to discover new learning. I believe manipulatives and hands-on learning should be a common practice in every classroom, and in every grade level. I love to inspire students to love math, embrace challenges, and develop and life-long love of learning.
