TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching elementary visual art since 1998.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach using enduring themes (the big idea). I am very high energy and like to push students to think, think, think! Many of my units have connections to other content areas.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am Nationally Board Certified (2012) in Early/Middle Childhood Visual Arts.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BS in Art Ed and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also Nationally Board Certified in Visual Arts/Early-Middle Childhood (3-12 year olds).

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love my little artists but I also love teaching teachers! I would love to come to your district and present a hands-on inservice that your teachers and administrators would love!! I have designed and facilitated training for my building faculty, my district visual art teachers, as well as several workshops at community venues that serve teachers from multiple teaching assignments on the local, state and national level. My specialty is assessment in the elementary Visual Art classroom but my units make great PBL projects for grade levels as well!
