I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Under my own moms bed is a box of things I made in Kindergarten, one of which is a book all about how I want to be a teacher when I grew up. Life throws you curve balls and your choices in life lead you in different directions from the path you had once chosen. I started out teaching teenagers and adults through a nutrition program then moved on to subbing in grades K-12 in our public schools while working to complete my bachelors degree. I chose to go for alternative certification while teaching in my own classroom. This upcoming year will be my second year teaching in my own classroom at a public school.
My teaching style is ... well, let's just say it is chaotic. I like movement and fun and games. I love hearing the excitement from students when they figure something out on their own or when something finally clicks. I think students should learn through play, by making memories that will last them longer than just to the next test.
