I have taught for about 5 years in special education. My experience has been in inclusion/collaborative, self-contained, and classroom environment designed for autism. I've taught middle school for the last three years. I love being a special educator and working with various students under different disability classifications.
My teaching style ranges from a variety of different styles. I favor working in small classroom environments with multi-level students. I really like implementing centers in my classroom because it really teaches kids how to work towards a clear beginning and end; they learn to work more independently as well. I also like jobs within my reading classroom - Cloze Reading skills I have used very effectively in my classroom.

I studied Special Education at Longwood University. I received both my bachelor's degree and masters degree there. I've also had experience and training with minor clinical care when it comes to serving the needs of individuals with physical/mental disabilities.
I've worked as an autism, inclusion/collaboration, self-contained, and adaptive teacher. I have begun to make my place as an adaptive teacher working with students participating in the Virginia Alternative Assessment Program (VAAP). Most of my work is very rich in reading comprehension both explicit and implicit type questioning - even my history and science materials! I've worked hard to try to make reading material lower for my students, but allowing them to master skills. Please provide feedback and ratings for my materials if you can :-)
