I began teaching in 1973 on the 4th grade level and then taught 5th. I moved to middle school and taught 7th and 8th. In 1980 I began teaching on the high school level until my retirement in 2015. I am asked to sub and teach AP classes still and give a presentation on Vietnam at my old high school.
I have lectured and developed a vast supply of PowerPoints for my classes. I have instructed classes using worksheets, student interaction, differentiated instruction, and group activities. Bottom line, I have used many styles in my years of teaching.
Nominated by students for teacher of the year. Two time winner of Basketball coach of the year as well as Girl's golf coach of the year. Frequently selected to high school honor guard for senior graduation in recognition of student appreciation.
Graduated from Indiana State University in 1970 with a BS in Social Science with endorsements for American and World History, Political Science, and Geography. Also a certificate in Driver Education. MA Degree from Ball State University in 1975 in Elementary Education.
Considered highly qualified in the state of Arizona and taught two years of Dual Enrollment classes for college credit. I have also coached high school basketball since 1980 with two state championships in Arizona and numerous players who have gone on to play at the college and pro level.
