Hi, I’m Pauline and I started my teaching career in 1977 as a Primary School Physical Education Teacher in Melbourne, Australia. My passion for keeping children fit and healthy led me to create and direct Fit Kids’Club in 1988 – a skill and fitness based recreational gymnastics and general movement program with a high emphasis on fun and inclusiveness for 3 to 12 year olds. Fit Kids’Club continued to evolve and develop for 16 years.
I believe children are keen to participate in games if they are fun, age appropriate and highly inclusive. Keeping these factors in mind, if children become accustomed to having positive, happy experiences during physical activity sessions, it is more likely they will enjoy a lifetime of physical activity resulting in postive health and fitness outcomes.
I have presented workshops at State and National levels [along with my husband Ron, also a Primary PE teacher] for Network Australia, ACHPER, VicFit and Gymnastics Queensland throughout the years.
Diploma of Teaching – Primary, Major - Physical Education. Group Exercise Leader for all ages. Regular presenter at National and State Fitness and Health conferences.
The games included on the Totally Active Kids discs have been tried and tested over many years. Ron and I have keen personal commitments to health and fitness and believe more than ever this needs to be made contagious to children. I have always loved moving and I hope I have managed to pass this love on to the children I have taught for the betterment of their physical health now and into their futures.
