Retired teacher with 30 years...Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Special Needs and Computer Lab
I believe in teaching to the student's needs. We used to call this individualized teaching...now it is referred to as differentiated instruction...and the pendulum swings. I have taught through the standard testing of kindergarten students, to the unguided activities where students were expected to figure it out on their own. I think they need guidelines even in the early years, but they also need choices, so they can learn to make good ones.
Teacher of the Year at both the school level and system level
Masters in Early Childhood Education
Retired with grown children, I spend my spare time volunteering at a local hospital, doing some long term substitute teaching and designing educational activities. I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor!
