Dare I say it? I've been teaching for more than 30 years! I have taught both in the U.S. and abroad (China and Switzerland). Since 2000, I have taught in elementary schools outside Washington D.C. Before then, I taught in university programs, adult education, and workplace literacy programs.
I love teaching ESOL students! I admire their spunk and tenacity, whether they are newcomers or were born in the States. They bring a bit of the world into my classroom every day. For me, students have to feel welcomed, safe, comfortable, and supported in order to do their best as students and thinkers. I work hard to make sure my students have the best environment and support for learning.
