I have over 16 years experience teaching and training in college and university in ESL. I have conducted seminars in accessible education and research in best practices and professional development. I have presented and published two chapters in a collaborative book on innovative teaching and learning in higher education. I have expertise in conducting student needs analysis, assessments and testing, technology-enhanced teaching and learning, and reforming and delivering curriculum.
I am firm yet fair and value critical thinking, respect and collaboration in my classroom and use those to guide me in my lessons and to inspire my students in their personal, academic and professional pursuits.
I was nominated for the Outstanding Research Award from CMU and OCASA for my research Conducting a Good Practices Audit with Community College ESL Faculty.
I have a Bachelor of Social Work, a Masters of Arts in Adult Education with Honours, a TESL Canada certificate, a verified certificate in Critical Thinking in Global Challenges, a Teaching and Professional Development certificate, and a Teaching English as a Second Language certificate. Some of my professional development includes teaching and assessment, blended learning, Canadian Language Benchmark training, literacy and engagement online and learning in higher education.
