I am a Geography and travel enthusiast. I try to incorporate lessons that extend learning beyond the classroom by creating opportunities for students to apply concepts and skills to real world scenarios. I am very fortunate that I've been able to travel to 15 different countries (and hopefully more soon!) including living in Italy where I taught English. I love bringing my experiences back to the classroom as well as learning with my students about other parts of the world. Technology provides so many opportunities to explore the world without ever leaving the classroom. Our curriculum leaves very little time for social studies so I find ways to integrate it into all subject areas. My goal is that my students leave the year with an appreciation for people of all cultures and with the desire to always keep exploring. Even if they never get the chance to actually go to these places learning about how people around the world live is just as valuable.
