This is my second year in the teaching profession. I'm currently working as a high school self-contained autism teacher; never a dull moment!
Teaching style? Hmm.. I guess I'd say most of all loving, but also firm. Consistent. Reliable. Encouraging. Safe. It's all about how I make my students feel and the environment I provide for them. I feel like SpEd is what I know and understand, and I wouldn't change my position for the world.
Published a study while working in a neuroscience lab my senior year of college.
I have a Master's degree in Special/Elementary Education as well as a Bachelor's of Science in Speech Pathology/Audiology, both from Arizona State University.
My name is Alex and I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. (Go Bears!) I've been living in Arizona for 13 years now, having completed high school and both of my degrees out here. When I'm not running around my classroom, I love to travel, read, be active, and most importantly spend time with my family and friends. My wonderful fiance is also a SpEd teacher which has been an awesome experience for us to share!
