I have been a high school math teacher for 11 years and have worked with students in everything from pre-algebra to college math. I have had the privilege to teach in California, Virginia and Louisiana and have written curriculum for a charter school system in Arizona. I am currently the STEM Master Teacher for high school math and work with teachers at two schools in southwest Louisiana.
As a classroom teacher, I believe my job is to guide students toward discovery of math principles. This means asking more questions than I answer and inviting students to answer the "why"s and "how"s as they work through a topic.
