I have been teaching for 17 years. Most of those years have been in third grade as a regular education teacher. I taught for a short while in 1st grade and in 5th grade.
I like to think of myself as a guide to help my students learn the most that they can. I try to incorporate as much technology and hands-on activities into my daily instruction. I love to use small groups to help differentiate instruction for my learners.
I am very honored to have been selected as the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year for my school! Being nominated for teacher of the year is an honor in its own right, but being chosen to represent a school full of wonderful teachers is extremely humbling. It is certainly a great honor. I have also been awarded grants to purchase Kindle e-readers, Legos, and Ipads for my classroom.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Florida A & M University. My Master's Degree in Foundations of Education is through Troy State University.
I am the proud mother of 11 year old triplets! They are an absolute joy and I am very blessed to love them and watch them grow.
