I have wanted to be a teacher all my life. I took many different paths in my life and they all brought me back to what I truly love "teaching." I have been teaching kindergarten for 9 years and have loved going to work every day. Each day is never quite the same which makes going to work fun but most important rewarding. As a kindergarten teacher, convincing students that they ARE able to read is difficult. But the moment they realize, "hey I am reading", the look in their eyes is PRICELESS! I would not change anything for the world!
In kindergarten, I feel it is very important to use a hands on approach. My students are constantly interacting with objects, the smart-board, etc.
I am awarded everyday by teaching children.
Bachelors in Education Endorsement in Kindergarten Masters degree in Instructional Technology and Instruction
I have been married for 5 years and I have 2 children, both are boys. Jordan (6 1/2) and Kolton (5). This year was the first year I had my own son in kindergarten and it truly opened my eyes for my own students parents. It is very difficult to juggle a full time job, prepare lessons, take care of the house, the kids, and then do their homework, YIKES! Needless to say, I am re-thinking some assignments I send home.
