I've been a KS1 teacher in Cumbria for the past 8 years and love my little ones to bits- they make me laugh (and sometimes cry) on a daily basis and I feel proud and privaliged to watch them grow and develop into amazing little people.
I love lots of talk and collaboration in my classroom. I always try to get imaginative hooks within my lessons to engage the children and inspire them to make creative links.
I am Literacy, Art and Design Technology Co-ordinator, KS1/ Foundation Stage leader and a member of the Senior Leadership Team as well as a Specialist Leader in Education for Phonics and a Literacy lecturer at a Teacher Training centre.
I loved school which was just as well as my mother was a Primary School teacher for 40 years! I spent MANY summer holidays putting up displays or reading in the school library! At 18 I moved away to Uni and gained a BA(tons) in American Studies and Media and Cultural Studies. When Uni was over I volunteered in my mum's year 6 (10-11 year olds) class as a Teaching Assistant for a year before moving to the beautiful Lake District to do my PGCE. I met my husband and the rest, as they say, is history! x
I love living in the Lakes but my heart will always be in my Liverpool home! I have a wonderful husband (5 years- GO US!) and 2 very cute cats- Oscar and Daisy. I enjoy drinking cups of tea, eating cake and creating all things cute, fun and educational for my little people Xx
