TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a current Middle School Math Teacher within a STEM School in Maryland. I teach Math STEM 6/7 and co-taught Math 6 this year. Last year, I taught Math 7, Math 9, and Algebra 1 within the same middle school. Although my background and degree is in Elementary Education, I really do enjoy Middle School Mathematics and hope to continue growing within the school I am currently at.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Although Math is pretty cut and dry at times, I am a very hands on teacher, often incorporating kinesthetic activities into my lessons. Students of all ages (especially my middle schoolers) need to get up and out of their seats. Adults don't enjoy being lectured to, so why would kids?

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I've only been teaching for a little more than a year now, graduating in May of 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education. Although I am a career changer, I feel that teaching is what I was meant to do, and I absolutely love my job. Creating memorable, positive impacts on a child's education is what my job is about, and every day is just a new experience on that path.
