I have taught English as a Second Language for over 14 years to adult immigrants studying in a college setting. My other subjects I have experience in include computer technology, job and career search, job preparation skills, curriculum development. I have been a teacher mentor for over 5 years assisting with classroom curriculum, technology tools, classroom behavior, database reporting, and campus and community events.
I am extremely student service oriented using a variety of teaching methodologies inside my classroom. My three major styles include the roles of a facilitator, demonstrator, and delegator. I believe in 'show'n' tell, assisting students to a point of learning and then turning the learning responsibility over to them. Experiential activities also provide an real hands on type of learning and light bulb moments in the classroom.
