TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I worked one year as an instructional assistant for a special education classroom (grades K-6). I am currently working as a special education (resource) teacher for grades K-5. I have been in this position for the past 6 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a hands-on approach to teaching. My students are usually up moving around and participating in lessons actively. I try to offer rewards over punishments - which works most of the time. :) I enjoy using and learning about new technology - I think tech. is a fantastic way to reach our kiddos!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I made the Dean's List 2 semesters.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a dual license in elementary and special education. I returned to school after a year break to complete my Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I have attended training sessions about co-teaching and reading strategies.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy working with children in different capacities. My favorite "job" is Mom...and teaching my daughters all kinds of new and interesting things!
