MY TEACHING STYLE

Currently work at a PBL High School. I believe in emphasizing research and use of information to make products and decisions.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've been nominated for teacher of the year 3 times, but never won.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Current student of Twitter University. MSIS University of Texas at Austin B.S. University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

As a librarian/media specialist for more than a decade, I've grown professionally along with the Web. My current interests are critical information evaluation and social media. With regards to Social Media, I'm dissatisfied with how schools teach about it. I rarely see more than discussions about cyber-bullying and other negative online behaviors. I believe students need much more guidance to establish a positive and intelligent online profile. My products here are designed to facilitate teacher-student dialog towards creating better online behaviors, which ultimately are about the students self-esteem and future focus.
