TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Spanish 1 through AP Spanish and IB Spanish for 16 years in the high setting.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I connect and build a positive rapport with my students by sharing my beautiful culture to keep them engaged in the language and spark their curiosity. For this reason , I start with the end result in mind, follow the ACTFL path to proficiency and ZOOM into the culture. Because my students love learning about our traditions, customs and they must be able to make connections and cultural comparison starting with level one. My ultimate goal is geared towards helping students to develop proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. And so, I want to create engaging activities and resources that make learning fun!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a National Board Certified Teacher. However, the best honor I have ever received is when my students reach out to me after graduating from high school or college. Knowing I have made an impact on someone is the highest honor I could receive. I love to hear that my students have continued to study Spanish in college and about their experiences abroad.
