Over 10 years teaching experience at the high school level in Career and Technical Education Technology and Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, Digital Design, and Web Design, as well as Information Technology in a Global Society (ITGS - an IB course), Art 1, Drawing and Painting, and Art History.
Teachers who make a difference are those who promote a higher level of knowledge, the desire to continue learning, and drive creative thinking long after the course is complete. I believe in a learning-centered approach towards the promotion of wisdom and skill, rather than memorization for a test; where the exploration of ideas and application works symbiotically with critical thinking. Each of these factors can exist while still accommodating a diversity of learning styles.
Over the years I was recognized as teacher of the week, given accolades at faculty meetings, and been thanked personally an endless number of times by administration. The only honor I care about is the growth of learning in my students, and a love I hopefully fostered in art and design!

I enjoy long runs, can expertly locate the desired lego piece in a bin of several thousand, and hate cleaning the house.
