TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in an inner-city low-income setting for about 9 years. I am currently teaching 11th grade U.S. History and APUSH, but the majority of my experience has been at the middle school level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is a collaborative learning environment with a heavy focus on literacy and critical thinking skills. Reading and writing are a part of every activity.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have written a number of articles for middleweb.com about teaching history at the middle school level, with an emphasis on engaging struggling readers and writers. My posts were part of the Future of History feature, and include some lessons and resources that teachers can access for free
