I currently teach at an elementary school, where my students never cease to amaze me with their capacity to learn and grow with joy and resilience. I have also taught Spanish to elementary students... grades K-5. I have experience teaching child development and early childhood education to public high school students. While raising my own young children, I ran a registered in-home daycare center. I have a Master's Degree in Education and am certified to teach B-Pre-K and K-5 general elementary ed, K-12 Spanish, and 7-12 FACS.
I believe in giving young students multiple ways to connect with subjects being studied. I use various modes of delivering instruction, including small groups, large groups, hands-on learning activities, free play, and physical movement. I am a nurturer and it is most important to me to work at helping every child feel secure and a valued part of my classroom community.

My husband, Mark, and I have three kids: Brooklyn, Tressa Rose, and Augustus. We live in Cary, NC where we enjoy the tall pine trees and trips to the beach... but our roots remain in Kansas where we love to return each year during summer vacation!
