TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught seventh grade science for 27 years and was an instructional coach for 8 years for a total of 35 years as an educator.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that science is art. And art is music. And music is math. And math is language. And language is history. And history is science. I love teaching in a way that reaches across the boundaries of content areas. My passion is to help teachers meet students where they are, and take them as far as they can go. I want every child to be respected, challenged, and supported. I want every day of school to give students a reason to come back and learn more.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Most Influential Teacher - Honor awarded by each year's top 5% of high school graduates in my school district. Doilney Award - Peer nominated teaching award. Regular Educator of the Year - by the Utah Association for Special Education. And the most important award ever: A former student of mine wrote a book and dedicated it to me.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. from the University of Utah.
