TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 29+ years as an educator at all levels. My experience includes teaching English in grades 9 - 12 ("basic" - "honors"), elementary school, and middle school library, media and information literacy. I have also worked for 2 years as an Adult Education teacher and have taught various college-level courses over the years for Clemson University and Southern Wesleyan University. At the present time I am employed as a high school media specialist where I enjoy working with students and assisting faculty with technology and training.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I prefer a somewhat loosely structured teaching style. In other words, I believe students should know what is expected of them regarding information to be learned, processes to be followed, etc., but there should be the opportunity for students to learn and express themselves in a variety of ways depending on their own personal learning styles.
