TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my ninth year teaching Art. I taught for two years in an elementary setting and this is my senenth year teaching high school. While teaching high school, I've taught Ceramics, Drawing, 2D, Sculpture, Digital Design, and Photography.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I work in a suburban/rural school where a lot of students perform at different levels. It is my supreme goal to push them to problem solve, relate art to things beyond our school, make connections to English, Math, and Science, and allow for successes along the way.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I had the honor of presenting at the 2008 Art Education Association of Indiana.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Herron School of Art and Design majoring in Art Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I also help coach a jump rope team and work within the jump rope community promoting the sport, judging, and training judges. I photograph weddings as a second photographer with my mom who owns a local photography studio. I enjoy travelling, reading, music, bike riding, hiking, canoeing, and camping.
