I am a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-certificated ground instructor who served as an FAA Safety Team (FAAST) Lead Representative for seven years; an attorney retired from 27 years of service in Kentucky state government; an instrument-rated private pilot; and a freelance writer with articles published in "Plane & Pilot" and "Pilot Journal" magazines.
