TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Going on year 3 at a Michigan high school, where I teach Spanish 1, 2, and 4 using the Así Se Dice text, as well as AP Spanish using the "Triángulo Aprobado" text.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to stretch away from our textbook as much as possible. I was trained to use Spanish for all classroom interactions (still working on it!), and using comprehensible input to create real-world situations for using the language. Many of my store products are based on speaking activities, because there are so few actual resources for speaking ideas given in most textbook-based curriculums.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Michigan State University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum - Winner in the Education category for original research, 2011

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with high honors with a BA in Spanish from Michigan State University's Honors College, with additional minors in TESOL and Music. I studied abroad at the Universidad Internacional Mendez-Pelayo in Spain for a summer, and did a year long internship to complete my education requirements.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I own a cat and a hedgehog. Because I'm weird like that :)
