Vera Clark is a special education teacher whose specialty is teaching struggling students to read. Vera Clark has taught special education, regular education, gifted children in private schools and public schools and has home schooled for a total of over 30 years. She is currently teaching special education students as a resource specialist in Southern California.
Vera provides personalized learning for each student, crafting Individual Learning Plans, monitoring progress, and celebrating successes. Her proven methods result in high achievement from all students, including students in special education and GATE programs and English learners.
Vera was invited to speak in Liberia, Africa, as the keynote speaker and trainer at a reading conference for educators, certifying teachers in reading and phonics instruction. She is frequently requested to speak locally, to parents and educators across Southern California on the subject of teaching reading. Her phonics-based program have been implemented by non-profit organizations as a part of a Verizon literacy grant, libraries across the nation, and city parks and recreation departments with great success.
